a) The Dormitory for visiting scientists consists of two main units connected by a common room fully equipped with kitchen and fire place. This is where people relax while listening to music or watching a video .
There are 5 smaller bunk bed rooms (dorms) with 2 beds each, and 3 apartments with capacity for a maximum of 3 persons (one double and one single bed). In total, 19 beds are available. Alternatively, cheap and simple rooms can be rented in the neighboring village.  |

b) An Exhibition Room is located next to the Administration office that contains general information about the station and Comau Fjord.
This room is equipped for full presentations, often used during tours to passing visitors and sometimes evening movies for people staying on the station.  |

c) The Administration Office is situated between the dormitory and the waterfront. Of its two rooms, one is home to the administration office while the adjacent room is the exhibition room.
The weather station next to the administration offices provides us with local weather conditions concerning
precipitation, solar radiation, atmospheric pressure, air and soil temperature, and wind speed and direction.

d) There are two Staff Houses on the station. The house situated closer to the dormitory belongs to the administrative directors and the other the scientific director.  |

e) The Cafeteria / Auditorium is the social heart of the station.
Here meals are served, presentations are given, or people simply enjoy the great view on the fjord.

f) The Observation Tower next to the Wet Lab offers a great view over the bay of Huinay, the Comau Fjord, the peninsula of Huequi, and the peak of Cerro Tambor in back of the station.
It is sometimes used as an observation point for scientific studies involving dolphins and sea lions.  |

g) The Wet Lab is located between the Cafeteria and the dry lab. A round trip inside, starting clockwise from the entrance, will lead you first to the sorting room on your left hand side, followed by the aquarium room equipped with tables in one section and a hatchery section with large scale tubs. The aquarium room has both salt and fresh water systems. As your tour proceeds you will next encounter the preparation/chemicals room that is neighboured by the photo/electricroom, where more delicate equipment is handled and stored away from salt water. |
The Diving Base is situated in the lower level of the wet lab. There is a compressor room where tanks for diving are filled, general storage room, drying room for the diving equipment, small workshop, changing room for pre dive preparation, hot showers, bathroom, and sauna to get back some heat after a cold dive.
Outside the basement you will encounter the freshwater-tub and shower to clean all types of diving equipment and research equipment.  |

h) The Dry Lab consists of a multipurpose central lab, a microscopy and precision instruments room, fully equipped central computers with diverse peripherals including internet capabilities, and an ever expanding library with reading areas. The offices of the HSFS Scientific Directors and Assistant are situated here as well.  |

i) A Boat Dock floats below the station. This is where the Zodiac and Llonco boats are normally moored. Loading and unloading of the Huinay occurs here as well. This dock is often utilized by the members of the nearby village and visiting tourist boats to land their passengers. But most importantly, it is the starting point of visiting biologists and oceanographers for their study trips.  |
