Demography of the Comau Fjord
The Comau Fjord is sparsely populated, making both the marine and terrestrial environments relatively pristine. Houses are located in the bay of Huinay, Punta del Rey across from the station,
Telele, Porcelana, Leptepu,
and near the river mouth of Bodudahue. The total population in these areas does not exceed 100 people.
In the bay of Huinay, there are two communally owned farms neighboring the station. There are 8 houses, and about 30 people living therein. Here on the station, the staff consists of 9 people that either live in residence or in the neighboring village. |
